Rolex
Cosmograph Daytona
The triumph of endurance

Launched in 1963, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona has since transcended its status in the watchmaking world to become an icon. Its name, inseparable from the famous Daytona Beach circuit in Florida, embodies Rolex's connection to the world of motor racing, particularly major endurance events. Its dial, instantly recognizable by its contrasting circles, helped make it a legend. The Cosmograph Daytona, the subject of constant improvement and sublimated over time, is an ally as reliable as it is precise for those who want to embrace destiny according to their own rules.

The Cosmograph Daytona is an emblem of Rolex know-how and is distinguished by its chronometric precision as well as its infallible reliability.

A legendary design

Bezel, minute track, and three counters-this characteristic five-circle iconography is emblematic of the Cosmograph Daytona. As time passed, dial designs, color combinations, and case architecture were regularly reworked to reaffirm the model's elegance.

A key element of the Cosmograph Daytona's identity, the tachymeter scale is located on the watch's bezel and allows average speed up to 400 kilometers or miles per hour to be determined by a central seconds hand.

Caliber 4131
The ultimate chronograph movement

The Cosmograph Daytona is equipped with Caliber 4131. This chronograph movement, entirely designed and manufactured by Rolex, is the heir to caliber 4130. Introduced in 2023, it incorporates some of the major innovations Rolex has made to its movements, including the Chronergy escapement, the Paraflex shock device, and an optimized ball bearing.

The caliber exhibits an openworked oscillating weight and, on the bridges, an exclusive Côtes de Genève Rolex decoration, a reinterpretation of a decoration emblematic of traditional Swiss watchmaking.

In the 950 platinum version, recognizable by its ice-blue dial, the oscillating weight is yellow gold and is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.

Oysterflex bracelet
All-round comfort

The 18k gold declinations of the Cosmograph Daytona with Cerachrom bezel are available with an Oysterflex bracelet. Developed by Rolex and patented, this bracelet manages to combine as never before the strength of a metal bracelet with the comfort of an elastomer bracelet. It features the Oysterlock safety clasp that prevents any inadvertent opening and the ingenious Rolex Glidelock extension system that makes it easy to adjust the length of the bracelet.

Breaking with convention

Since its launch, the Cosmograph Daytona has been the watch of choice for motorsports enthusiasts. Many have adopted the timepiece not only on the racetrack, but also in their daily lives-such as Paul Newman, legendary actor, seasoned driver and pioneering social entrepreneur; Sir Jackie Stewart, iconic figure in Formula 1® and among the most celebrated drivers of the past 50 years; Tom Kristensen, the record-breaking Danish driver and nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans; and Jamie Chadwick, the young British driver who has established herself as the new female role model in single-seater racing.
